Featherdale wildlife park

Stopped by wildlife park before going back to hotel

They allow feeding and petting of some animals

New friendship developed with the local Roo.

Not very welcoming of these Koalas.  They slept rather than keep me company

This guy was so friendly that he thought I was a food treat.

Lots of beautiful birds.  Other guys not pictured: dingo, penguins, Tasmanian Devils, wombats and lots of others.  Not enough time to visit everyone.

Blue Mountains, Scenic World.

Blue Mountains Australia.

Posing by entrance.

From top of mountain got on Scenic Railway to the bottom

Pretty steep descent.  Lots of pathways around ancient rainforest.

Darn tourist photo bombs view of three sisters in background.

Sun came out just in time for some wonderful views.

Vast expanse of such a treasure.  Down via railway but up via the scenic cableway.

Rainy Day Activity part 2

Checked out the Mary of the Cross Catholic Cathedral to see the architecture and ostentatiousness.

There was a wedding going on, bride at entrance.  She was hesitating.

Beautiful.

Very Gothic architecture.

Saint Patrick still working In Australia trying to drive out the snakes except that those politicians keep getting in the way

Small altar inside cathedral.

Trying to pay respect to Pope John Paul by kissing his feet.

Rainy day activity

Rainy day today.  Spent several hours at Art Gallery of  New South Wales. Admission Free.  Viewed Australian and Aboriginal artwork.

This nice young woman gave some good pointers of what to see in the gallery.  Below is a sample of the artwork.

Taronga Zoo visit

New friends recommended a visit to the Taronga Zoo to meet other native friends.

Here is a rock Wallaby

Many Roos just lounging around

This little guy is a Wombat.

This is Alex the Tasmanian  Devil.  Little guy waiting for lunch.  His meal consisted of dead quail.  He gets ferocious when eating.

Hanging out at the adoption center.  Roos with Joeys.

More adoptees.

Such cuties waiting patiently for someone to adopt them.

More adventures 'round Sydney

Stop by the Hard Rock Café to buy souvenir t-shirt

Strolling along the harbor.  Sydney Opera House in background.

In background is Sydney Harbor bridge.  For about $300.00, you can get a walking tour on top of the bridge with a tether, no bungee jumping allowed.

In Australia men's restroom is "Male" restroom and women's restroom is "Female" restroom.

Lots of exotic plants all over Royal Botanical Gardens.  Jacanda trees in full bloom throughout the city.

Many homes in downtown area have old Victorian style and rod iron fencing.
